QUEFBRIDGE®
Ubuntu Pedagogy
Rigour, structure, equity and trust.
At the heart of everything QUEFBRIDGE® teaches, from pre-school to post-secondary, lies a single conviction: rigour, structure, equity and trust. Ubuntu Pedagogy is not an added extra – it is the foundation on which every student’s performance rests, supported by massive and consistent investment in the quality of teaching and of the network’s teachers.
A clear progression, from knowledge to action
Every Ubuntu Pedagogy pathway follows the same trajectory: Know › Understand › Practise › Solve › Create › Undertake (Entrepreneurship). This progression structures the entire educational continuum, from discovering a concept to putting it to concrete use in order to create or start a venture.
A pathway designed cycle by cycle
- Foundation cycle (ages 3–6): natural English/French bilingual awakening through immersion.
- Primary: rigour in mathematics and science, progressive conceptual mastery before abstraction, then rotating discovery of trades from P4, with a choice of trade at the end of the cycle.
- Lower and Upper Secondary: general common core, with successive selection tests guiding orientation between the classic academic track and the technical–professional track – each coupled with a requirement of versatility.
- Post-secondary: a dual architecture, between a bilingual research university and a career-oriented polytechnic.
Cross-cutting fundamentals, at every level
STIAM and technology, learning by doing, project-based and problem-based learning, reinforced flipped classroom, metacognition, peer tutoring, continuous assessment coupled with practical assessment, direct connection with businesses, entrepreneurship and African innovation.
An acknowledged synthesis
Ubuntu Pedagogy combines the best international practices – inspired by the Singaporean and Finnish models – with indigenous African knowledge, in order to train students who are at once rigorous, versatile and rooted in their continent.
